Turns out that Jeff Fortenberry deserved all of that and more.
Yes, this defacement was juvenile. Still, he deserved the mockery. He deserved being called Jeff Fartenberry. He deserved the googly eyes. And he deserved the claim that he stands for strong odor.

A couple of blocks south was Rose Records.

It was bought out by Tower Records.
Rose Records at 214 S Wabash in Chicago. Rose was the biggest record store with many shops in the Chicago area. It was bought by Tower Records when Tower attempted to become a nation wide chain in the early nineties. Then the record industry died. This photo is from the seventies. Note the lack of CDs in the window display.
