1. He’s never seen a grift he doesn’t try to exploit.
2. He’s is loyal to no one but himself.

“100% anti Trump, which is probably illegal.” It’s absolutely not illegal to be against the president. That’s protected speech under the First Amendment—but he’s trying to overturn that for any people who resist or dissent.
