My supposedly innovative employer has really done the extraordinary: cut a deal with probably the most exploitive company in the market, and ACTUALLY try to polish that turd by claiming they are supporting small-medium businesses while at it. The spin. It's mind-boggling.

Found this SK post from 2012 to describe a phenomenon (the lack of discoverability of book chapters) that I'm thinking about, and was delighted to see a comment from @tressiemcphd.bsky.social that *absolutely* hits the nail directly on the head. 💯

She’s here! It’s Lexi! She is a 10yo Shepard mix and super sweet. She and Mittens are feeling their way around each other. There’s been some hissing, and one low growl from Lexi, but it’s going surprisingly well?!?

Mittens is going to the vet for his annual checkup this afternoon! He thinks he hates it, but then he gets there and preens for the vet, showing off just how darned handsome he really is.
