Fine art printmaker from York, England. Dapple scrumper. Sometimes found loitering in a medieval hall and talking to strangers. Not at home to joy sponges.

Fifth layer. Another two to go, I think, but then I originally planned this to be just six layers, and it's clearly going to be at least seven, so what the heck do I know?

I should think anyone who's watched The Traitors, let alone the Celeb version, might think this is a very welcome development.

Hoardings advertising a new housing development on a slightly raised bit of land nearby tell us it will be called 'Minster View'. I imagine the sales rep hauling sceptical viewers up to a bedroom window and saying "You CAN see the Minster. It's over there, between the land and the sky".

Just so you know, I'm not doing a Black Friday sale, because I don't rip people off for the rest of the year. My work is priced fairly without an enormous margin that I can afford to slash for a promotion. (It is also hand made by me, a human person).

From PD James' second Adam Dalgliesh novel, written in 1963, the year I was born and very much in living memory. Ruddy Nora.

Well that figures. Finally acknowledging they are essentially the pleb and posh versions of the same paper.

If you happen to be in York, and happen to walk down Stonegate, and happen to drop into Pyramid Gallery, and happen to go upstairs, you'll find this reduction linoprint, 'By the River', which depicts New Walk early on a May morning. (It's also available unframed direct from me).

Worth walking through the snow last night to see @countarthurstrong.bsky.social's one-man 'A Christmas Carol', though curiously I now feel even less Christmassy than I did before...

It's November. It's York. It's the Treasurer's House Christmas Pudding Scone. IYKYK.

I'm supposed to be going out but I sat down to read a message and now this has happened. Send help.

Third layer on a reduction linoprint. Still doesn't look like much at this stage but it should start getting a bit more definition in the next layer.

Day 4 of AccuWeather sending me repeated flood warnings, the latest just 11 minutes apart. They're not going to stop until I confirm I've climbed on the roof, are they?

Had a marvellous evening yesterday listening to @drjaninaramirez.bsky.social talking here in York, thanks to Toppings. (Very much looking forward to the HUGE new branch of Toppings opening here next year; I fear I might actually take up residence).

The first layer of a new reduction print always looks a bit rubbish. At least mine do. I have to keep the faith...

First use of a thermal vest for this morning's shift at @barleyhallyork.bsky.social. Winter is coming.
(I should point out visitors are perfectly comfortable because they are moving around and generally dressed for outdoors).

Shocked I tell you, SHOCKED.

There is absolutely a need for art that shocks, disturbs and challenges, but THIS is why I unashamedly continue to create 'pretty pictures' of natural scenes. The lovely messages I get from people who have felt better after looking at them tell me I'm doing something worthwhile.

'Rotter' not on Worgle's word list. I say.

Another little video showing a reduction linoprint developing - this time in seven layers.
