I grew up in South Africa and my dad took me to a Linux user group on the weekends when we saw they’d be handing out free copies of SuSE and RedHat, I don’t even remember the version but it was in ‘99 as well. We had way to slow internet at the time so downloading ISOs wasn’t an option. Good times

Now that I don’t really have time to spend on doing either traditional or digital art, I really appreciate the creative process aiArt tools like MidJourney play. Both in speed of creation, and ability to iterate on an idea or go off on another tangent and be inspired differently

The point being made by the other person was that it’s not the process that a viewer values, but the final result. I still believe a hand drawn image would be more valuable in that case, personally. But I understand the point that two paintings one an original and one a copy can be indistinguishable

I once debated on a chat in deviantArt about why I feel traditional art is more valuable than digital art. I was quite stubborn in my opinion, because traditional art is tangible. The skill to create a pencil or pen drawing with realism compared to undo/redo and layers and filters for example…
