Mathematical modeller at Edinburgh University, and tabletop roleplayer. Likes cats, pugs, and coffee. Wants voting reform. ADHD. Bi. They/them.
I'm playing in an SR2e game right now (or at least alternating Sundays). It helps when your GM runs it in a very loose style.

Iirc, you had to beat TT's ghost on every single track in order to unlock him, at which point you'd pretty much finished it.

I played it to completion as a kid. I'm really hoping it comes to Switch (or Switch 2) like the other Rare games so my 43 year old self can be embarrassed at how bad I've become at gaming!

Here's a plot of your probabilities for 1-10 dice, generated rolling 100k times. I'll figure out a way to give you the actual numbers tomorrow.

I would love to take the train more, it's a lot less stressful than flying, and I don't mind that it takes longer.

It just needs to be cheaper than flying (I'm guessing aviation is heavily subsidised), and sadly cost is usually the deciding factor for me.

Sorry to hear that :(
I hope it passes soon.

I'm 43, I want to know!

I showed this to Jules and it resulted in a complete history of Vince Clark, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Assembly, and Erasure.

I love musical tangents!

People made Jenga blocks a mechanic. I'm sure we're not *completely* tapped out!

I think I'm definitely someone who needs to see this from time to time!

I get that this is the English NHS, not Scottish, but I've been waiting 3 and a half years for an ADHD assessment now, and despite that I think I made the right decision to not go private.

I'm glad I spent the time reading this very carefully, as I've come out with a good understanding of using NGMs to calculate R0, and it's got me into the author list of a few other papers!

So effectively, a group of 3rd parties make a formal coalition and propose one candidate to represent the coalition in a FPTP election?

I'm not seeing any advantage over PR, is this is just a strategy for working under the existing system?

I first encountered that in Whitehack, and it's one of many changes that simplified and clarified the game.

Also replacing spell lists with ad hoc user defined spells which still managed to capture the feel of D&D magic without the complexity.

Removing the weird 5 saving throws and replacing them with a single one with more specific exceptions.

That's the cover of the version I have!

I've played plenty of other games, but I still find original Doom a lot of fun.

Bonus: it doesn't give me motion sickness (I struggle even with Minecraft for that).

Me neither. Although realistically if you have any opinions about anything you're going to be on *someone's* blocklist. That's not always a bad thing.
November 23, 2024 at 11:08 PM
I think a lot of these were really just totally obvious trolls. Very few posts, mostly just the same attacks left as replies to people.

It's really just saving people a lot of effort in advance.

There's the other side of the coin too, some people are maintaining lists of RW / MAGA / 'phobe types who have recently been trying to join in to troll people here.

Quite nice to have a lot of people pre-blocked so you don't need to encounter them yourself.

Same!
November 23, 2024 at 12:21 PM
Same. Although I recently deleted my Twitter accounts and uninstalled the application from my phone, so mild curiosity but no actual interest in seeing it first hand.
