Ta-da! Here’s some footage of the table in action! I’ve still got a long way to go on this journey of reskinning an original virtual pinball table, but safe to say I am STOKED on this so far! #vpin #virtualpinball

I am STOKED on my latest progress with ‘GNARLYBOT’ - my reskin of the 1990 pinball table ‘Radical!’. The past 3 nights I’ve put in a tonne of work to make the playfield and plastics all custom (with still a lot more to do!) but I am really thrilled with how it’s looking!!

It’s alive! Well, a very rough first-pass at ‘Gnarlybot’ - my reskin of the 1990 Bally pinball table ‘Radical!’. Lots and lots and lots still left to do, but it feels rad to replace a few big images and see what needs attention (all of it!). Feels rad though!

I printed my ‘BroBot’ character in translucent purple filament for that 2000’s aesthetic! 💜

How I made a virtual pinball machine! This is just *part* of the story though, the software side is even more in-depth! Have a read of the full story over in my blog: blog.jam-factory.com/making-a-vir...

Oh boy, the 2000’s have come flooding back to me after installing the MF DOOM virtual pinball table! So good! #ALLCAPS

Woohoo! Addressable LED strips now mounted underneath my playfield TB via some trunking I designed & 3D printed which sync directly with what’s happening in the game! (After much support and help from the visual pinball chat discord! 👏)

It’s taken a while, and I’ve made a million rookie mistakes along the way, but I’ve now got addressable LED strips that react based on whatever is happening inside the VPX pinball software!

My dog is the perfect subject for a Gaussian splat as she doesn’t move at all!

Uh oh, a little test and a quick experiment with lights and a playfield swap has got me staring down a new rabbithole of designing my *own* virtual pinball table!

Now ‘phase 1’ of my virtual pinball cabinet is complete, I can just enjoy playing it for a bit before embarking on ‘phase 2’ (wooden cabinet, glass top, surround sound feedback speakers)!
