I haven’t even played the game itself yet, yet I’ve still purchased it and Hollow Knight.

The main reason why I want them to win so badly is because them pricing it at $20 and being so consumer friendly is a giant middle finger to the AAA industry right now. I want to send a strong message.

Often times when I’m using AI stuff to help with work related matters, I still need to fine-tune stuff in photoshop or in After Effects if I’m doing something animated with it. It’s never just “push the AI button and everything is done perfectly”, nope it doesn’t at all work that way.

Spot on. I’ve found that generative AI is very useful as sorta a concept or pre-visualization stage of a project to show to an actual artist to say “this is kinda the idea I have in mind, just change a, b, an c“ since often times, AI rarely gets everything right during a first pass.

Plus, the fact of the matter is that the technology is not going away, and is getting more advanced every day, and it WILL require us to learn how it works, whether we want to or not. It’s a speeding train that we have to get on, or it WILL leave us behind and leave us unprepared for the future.

Much like photography was to painters, and CGI was to practical fx artists, any new tech will scare and challenge the status quo. But rather than dismissing and vilifying it, it should be used to improve upon the industry before it, or carve out a new industry all its own alongside the older one.

Still not getting it due to the grossly anti-consumer moves made with it. I need to speak with my wallet on this.
