"But doesn't the unsuccessful plaintiff have to pay your fees?" you might ask. Glad you asked! Yes, they do, if the judge says so. And yet, in our case he just... didn't pay. That same thing could very well happen to @pressprogress.ca — and even if Ford does pay, it probably won't be full costs.

At the end of the day I'm not sure how much difference it makes. But it is striking to put out a budget that axes a luxury tax on yachts and adds a co-pay for refugee claimants accessing drugs and dental care.

I have many observations about this budget, including around the climate-competitiveness stuff (some of which will be published soon enough). One broader one for now: I’m not sure this government has yet figured out how to tell a coherent and compelling story.
