The way it went was organised chaos. The end game debrief included loads of stuff that wasn't in the plan, but people had fun, and that's all that counts!
In the foreground a table with a large vinyl map of the planet on it. Two Maroon shirted control team members sort out things for the next turn. In the background the Science Control is in a white lab coat and is talking to a player about their latest line of research The table in the foreground has a large board game style layout with the nuts and bolts of the colony three players plan what they need to produce for the turn. Some more interactions at the map table with players finding out what they discover when the survey another part of the planet.

Received some meeples from an eBay seller today in the most wonderful envelope
A small envelope with eight postage stamps on it of six different varieties. Top left: Australia centenary stamp 34p; Peter Sellers stamp 17 pence; water music by George Frederick Handel stamp 17p; Lord Dowding and a hurricane on another 17p stamp. On a smaller section two each of a Christmas stamp that was 17.5p and a commemorative stamp for Mrs Gaskell. Notable that the UK hasn't used half pennies for about 40 years, so these stamps are rather old...

Me standing in the snow next to the cairn on top of Càrn Liath (on the Bheinn a' ghlo). It's cloudy and windy up here, and about 0°C but doesn't feel too cold out of the wind. Càrn Liath is my 10th Munro.

Stopped for some coffee
White fluffy clouds in a blue sky. Under them are rolling hills and a few mountains with a smidgen of snow surmounting their peaks. In the middle ground a few burns wind through the peat bog. All I can hear is the gurgling of water and the squeaks of small animals in the heather. A gentle breeze keeps me cool.

Made a resolution to walk in the hills at least one day a month. Almost missed it in Feb.

Did some backwoods cooking with my explorers the other night. I reprised the "egg on a stick" and took more photos this time!
An egg with a thin stick stuck through it and held over glowing embers of a wood fire. The trick is to gently tap the shell many times with a knife until the shell breaks but the membrane inside it doesn't. You then need a sharpened and cleaned green stick about 4mm in diameter to stick through the egg and put over the hottest part of the fire quickly so that the white starts to congeal, which will seal the egg while the rest of the inside cooks. The cooked egg, peeled (and also half eaten). The darker part on the bottom left of the egg is the shadow from the phone camera. The light is from my head torch and I didn't quite have the angles right. The egg is almost hard boiled, although some of the yolk was still soft.

Took my explorers out to find RNAS Aldbar in Montreathmont Forest this evening. They set off in three groups five minutes apart and all of them got lost...

Thankfully I gave them all a radio and after an hour got them back onto the road and back to the start point so we had time for a debrief.

Went for a wee walk on Saturday through the Blue Door to the Rocks of Solitude (neither being euphemisms)

All pictures are the rugged beauty of the River North Esk, which is the border between Angus and Aberdeenshire
