Hobby cosplay portraits and pictures of my sleeping dog, mostly. I also GM a super fun #daggerheart game. My GM name should be “Matt Worser”.
I cannot begin to tell you how great this pdf is for your Daggerheart game.

Critical Role’s The Menagerie (even though it uses the beta rules) does a good job of capturing the general flow while being more lighthearted than Umbies.

It’s a great place to start- just know some of the mechanics (like action tokens) work differently.

I just preordered the standard and deluxe addition (and will also end up grabbing it on Demiplane). Again.

I may have a problem, but, at least I’m not blowing it on booze and hookers?

Preordered the deluxe. Was there a preview or Q&A?

And it was so narratively smooth that how anyone ever plays with initiative again is beyond me.

The BEST part about not being tied down by six seconds and an order is that you can have narrative beats INSIDE combat super easily. My party was once in the middle of a massive fight where two of the party members were negotiating with an NPC for a way out while the others fought off zombies.

There are few things scarier in TTRPGs than when you have to write out lore… and then tell it to your players and be like: “Vwelp- I hope that made sense because… it’s canon now…”

My players are finally getting to the meat and potatoes section of this (mis)adventure, so, this week has been mostly about building lore and finally being forced to decide what the actual Hell is really happening in my world. I’ve been playing it pretty fast and loose so far- which has worked.

Throw it on the pile with all others.

“Like ALL of my ex boyfriends are bassists and they all turned out to be real jerks! So, one morning, I was like: “Dyme’, girl! You have got to start dating guys with more standards- like drummers!”

Is something I never thought I would ever roleplay but, here we are!

Play doesn’t just move to you when they roll with Fear- it also moves to you when they FAIL an action roll (like by missing a monster). Additionally, you can always spend a Fear to deliberately interrupt them and move play back to you specifically for this very thing.

Hope this helps!

Mike ( @slyflourish.com ) has a book: The Eight Steps of the Lazy DM, but, he also has a weekly Twitch channel where he preps for his Scourge of the Dragon Empire campaign set in the Tales of the Valiant setting.

BTW: this worked super duper well. An adversary attacking a PC that was BURNING had Advantage, an additional 1d4 damage and the ability to roll their damage die twice and take the higher result.

It turned an otherwise straight forward combat into a chess match.
