Person living in Brooklyn who does stuff, much of it enjoyable
There was never a lot of evidence that Locatelli, who is the captain, was interested in leaving Juventus or that Juve were all that interested in moving him. Al-Ahli made multiple offers for him that were rejected, and Locatelli's statements indicated he wanted to stay. But yes, better than Pahlinha

Lucien Agourme from Sevilla and Joao Gomes looking like ripe targets though

Clearly a midfield of the future

Always nice to meet another of my people

I mean, maybe. I'm not that curious about it so I haven't made any efforts to figure it out honestly

Supposedly they have two other top flight clubs as clients, but they don't disclose who. They used to have FC Midtjylland as a client; not sure if they are one of the two or if they don't use them anymore.

It can be. Lots of variables outside of the control - are they being found by passers in the right positions? Is the system putting them into those positions or is it the player?

If it was a simple science, everyone would be doing it and doing it successfully.
December 4, 2025 at 8:07 PM
I suppose; I don't know that anyone is "at fault" or deserves blame - everyone is doing the best they can.

But there are also stats - say progressive passes, or successful dribbles, that do have predictive value, or that lack public facing expected equivalents, so they get used alongside xG etc by people, and that causes a good bit of the confusion around expected goals (in my opinion)
December 4, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Well, yes, but fundamentally the tension is that stats of what occurred are poor predictors of what will happen in the future. So if I want to know which striker is likely to score the most goals for the rest of the season, which striker has scored the most so far is a bad predictor.
December 4, 2025 at 7:04 PM
I think, generally speaking, that people have a difficult time distinguishing the data that is useful for predicting what is likely to happen compared with the stats about what did happen. And I think that is significantly because the two things are in fundamental tension with each other

Nor would it have been possible without pro-Zionist Jewish diaspora groups recruiting evangelical support so extensively, and in doing so deliberately conflating being pro-Israel with being pro-Jew in US domestic politics

I doubt that many members of the Tisch family are going to be sanguine about paying more taxes just because one of them is the NYPD commissioner

He's got lots of money. He's still is business with Joe Lewis too. I feel like he already said what he has to say: he thinks Spurs fans didn't largely appreciate the job he did while he was doing it, and they will come to appreciate him when he's gone.
December 4, 2025 at 4:19 PM
I think this is hard for us to really get into, because we're just not privy to a lot of important things about what happens internally. Does the board even matter? Did it matter when Levy was there? Are they more or less involved since the Lewis kids took control, & are they really in control now?
December 4, 2025 at 4:12 PM
We are also only assuming that Venkatesham has the authority to do that. Part of the issue I have with the way the Levy sacking went down is that the transition is from everyone in football knew who made the decisions at Spurs to now it's very unclear to anyone how decisions at Spurs will be made
December 4, 2025 at 3:37 PM
I would wager that they do try to interview him, but there is very little reason for Levy to agree to that, and many reasons for him not to.
December 4, 2025 at 3:29 PM
I would have kept Ange on but with a lot of misgivings. I didn't think Frank was the answer, but I also thought he'd be adequate.

I think the sacking of Levy is potentially calamitous and a bigger deal than the manager which is what is going to be much less popular than my opinion on the managers 🤣
December 4, 2025 at 3:16 PM
No, I don't think the training matters as much as the lack of recovery time/rotation. I don't think we saw much difference before the UCL really got underway.

I think injuries/poor recruitment is the main factor, and I think Frank has undermined a lot of Spurs' best players through timidity.
December 4, 2025 at 3:10 PM
And if you get into those goals, you have a couple low xG screamers from Richy etc that don't fit the "plan". So I think that a better question would be why are Spurs doing such a poor job of getting attacking players into attacking situations?
