I agree - there was a healthy spread of different characters, & the drama successfully spread the action to 2 or 3 different geographical centres of action too, which gave the drama dynamism
However, if you do watch #JoyofLife, you’ll see it has a more ambitious scale of story it wants to tell

To be fair, they had to juggle so many brilliant actors, that there were always going to be people missing out unfairly
And because it’s not a romance themed drama, Li Qin’s character doesn’t play as prominent a role as I would have liked (though who knows, she may play a fuller role in season 3)

I don’t think Carrie has seen #SnowyNightTimelessLove - because it has what most people would call a sad (though for me it was poignant & not completely tragic) ending - but Li Qin is really good in that drama!

This drama is a case of Li Qin being criminally underused - but despite this blind spot it is still an absolute classic. I’m a Li Qin fan, but you really shouldn’t skip this drama just because it doesn’t give her as good a role as she deserved

She’s been in some great dramas over the years - even in the ones I didn’t like so much, I still enjoyed her performances 🙂
The last drama I saw her in before this was #SnowyNightsTimelessLove, in which she gave a strong performance (with Joseph Zeng); but the one I want to see is #TheYouthMemories

Yes, I agree. We did get a small taste of this in the last episode when everyone comes together to help restore the family temple/shrine, making new banners etc
It was so lovely to see them all in their new situations - but it would have been perfect to see an episode showing them & the Wang mother
