The dud to blast ratio is odd considering there is no reason for each one not to be excellent. Don’t get dragged down by mythology or previous movies (see marvel, bond, Star Wars, etc). Just create a great adventure for Indy to get into. Don’t need giant ants or surprise kids bogging things down.

Maybe this is a simplistic analogy. But there were repeated phrases @elijahwald.bsky.social used that sounds almost exactly like the Dem/progressive debate today.

The rockers wanted to turn it up and push back harder. Whether it was the war, civil rights, etc they saw the challenges escalating. They didn’t think they could wait for the “old ways” to do their trick.

On paper, all sides may say they believe in the same thing (I.e, the power of song as a driving force / govt programs that help people, etc) but clash over how to achieve it. Folkies urged patience and adherence to old norms as they worked toward their goals. 2/5
