See the strap under her chin. About her Headdress: A complex hairstyle known as a coazzone holds her hair back.
Veil: A fine, transparent gauze veil with a woven gold border covers her hair and is held in place by a thin black fillet across her forehead. Hope this helps

If you look carefully you will see a light brownish line above her eyes of the silk cap.

See the light white sheer silk was a status thing back then. Much like carrying a Hermes bag now - silk came from China via trade on the Silk Road to Italy - lots of money to get that. Hermes uses about $200-$500 of leather in a Kelly or Berkin bag - hand sewn with with top grade hardware

Good question that was a sign of status back then a clear cap of silk. Worn over the top of the head - per this picture that recreates the Mona Lisa colors - they use digital analysis of the pigments used in oil painting that reacted and changed over 600 years

Art of the day - replacing dry rotted steps and relaying bricks along with taking care it does not happen again. The original construction quality was very poor. I got a lot of fixing to do - so not many blog posts. Three hours of digging - I am tired

Hey Kelly - according to some sources it takes several weeks to a month to get the skill at hand stitching leather well. Also I found I need a stitching pony type device to get the tension correct. So I am making one. You have to start and learn the feel of stitching. Fix issues

Sorry - but not really sorry - I captured this from a website to add to a collection of bad art I call Spanky. America needs to stand up to the malignant society being created. Thank you Stormy!

Messing around with leather some more a small case for grand daughter’s back pack to hold lip stick. I keep on learning and getting better with stitching and cutting it out patterns. I am picking this craft & skill up after many years. Still a lot more to learn and develop skills #leatherwork

Interesting - two democrats unseated two republican public service commissioners - yes I voted for them. First time in 25 years. The governor of Virginia is now a woman democrat replacing the republican elected four years ago who was a do nothing. And in New York City a Democrat won.

Art of the Day - a long time ago I learned you have to practice a skill to get better. This morning, I used scraps of leather to practice a French seam. (My first one). It is not perfect as the picture shows. #Artoftheday, #skilldevelopment, #leatherwork, #crafts, #practice
