I was very excited to write a poem for Paul Vermeersch’s new ekphrastic project! These always generate some really great stuff.
I have a new project where I invite poets to write ekphrastic poems inspired by Kay Sage's surreal painting "In the Third Sleep." (Previous projects involved paintings by Gorky and Turner). First up are Conor Mc Donnell, Susan Glickman, and James Lindsay. More to come!

Its easy to say "the best Christmas song is the one where Springsteen yells numbers at the audience" but the true honour goes to Tom Waits doing "Silent Night" as a bit before launching into his own Christmas classic, where the audience laughs nervously at the "Charlie I'm pregnant" line
