Peering down into the clouds from the top of the Whistler Gondola 🚠

The view around the Roundhouse near the top of Whistler Mountain was as magical as always 🤩

The ride out from Olympic Station to the village was actually nicer than mid mountain, the snow was soft and carvable without being total slush. Reminded me of spring snowboarding like April , not early February.. but still, was fun

The run from Roundhouse to Emerald lift was nice and powdery, and then from there down to the Olympic Station was a bit icy and crunchy and foggy. So not bad honestly

Took the gondola up from Olympic Station to Roundhouse, snow everywhere up here, so looks like the snow that fell over the weekend stuck up at elevation, this is promising

The ride up Fitzsimmon lift to Olympic station, the track out to the village looks nice and groom but the snow outside the path looks like it’s late season.. man we didn’t get much snow this year

Stopped for breakfast in Squamish on the way to Whistler. McDonald’s now has a special menu with Franks Red Hot Sauce on lots of things. I got the one with Franks on a bacon McMuffin. It doesn’t look different but the spicy creamy sauce was a good upgrade

Went up to Whistler to go snowboarding on Monday. The Chief in Squamish was foggy, like from a Silent Hill game

Lovely lunch from my lovely wife: tofu tomatoes and mushrooms over rice with some Japanese pickles on the side 😋

Loved the blue skies walking around Walnut Grove. If it wasn’t February I’d say it feels like a nice spring day

Seems like some Death Stranding fans in Walnut Grove (probably not but the hand prints reminded me of Death Stranding 🖐️)

The sun is out here in Langley, blue skies, probably a great day to be playing tennis 🎾

I still find it interesting that:
A) Kraft macaroni and cheese is called “Kraft Dinner”in Canada (It was always that to me so I guess it’s more surprising for me it’s not called that outside Canada)
B) it’s so well known that it’s just KD on the package

Also apparently there’s Mario marketed KD. 😸

Time for some lazy food: ikea Swedish meat balls with lingonberry sauce and gravy (I made it too runny 😢), plus potatoes and green beans from my parent’s garden. Tasty 😋

The last of the drinks left from my October 2025 Japn trip… Slowly getting there 😸🍶

Just tried the regular McVegie and Spicy McVegie. Pretty good, instead of going the beyond meat/impossible approach of trying to fake meat, instead it’s veggie patty made up of carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn. I like how it’s doing its own thing

Look at these bombs that came on top of my Chinese fish soup. Approach with caution haha 😸
February 7, 2026 at 11:07 PM
I ordered a small boiled fish with pickled cabbage and green pepper. It was filled with Sichuan numbing peppers and my lips were numb. 15/10 would recommend.

I love how they have to mention that the small is for one person and the large is for two.. it’s good they mention this as the small was HUGE

It’s time for Chinese Sauerkraut Fish soup. Sour and spicy, many different options, here’s a few.. what will I order ?
