Congrats to Jocelyn Hernandez Jimenez, who is the 2025 recipient of the Annie and Sallie Ann Wheeler Memorial Scholarship. The award amount for this year is $6,000, which will be used to support Jocelyn’s studies at UNC-Chapel Hill.

One year ago today, I publicly announced the release of my first book, “The Copy Editor’s (Life)Style Guide.” I’m grateful to everyone who purchased a copy or told someone about it.

This project was a landmark moment in my 20-year editing career.

Last night, ACES: The Society for Editing awarded me the 2025 Robinson Prize, a national “editor of the year” recognition and the highest honor the society bestows.

I also made history by becoming the first black winner of this prestigious award.
