Totally! What I always tell our volunteers is “these electeds have a skillset that’s a bit more geared toward fundraising and elections and a bit less toward policy and that is where we come in as subject matter experts”

The “they’re ready to be spoonfed part”. The “they’re ready to work hard on your idea” is more hit/miss

A really good governance reform. If they don’t have a CRO/legis office equivalent, they need one. In the long run, any legislative body end up with ‘oops, all lawyers!’ if they don’t have that

FWIW I put 30k miles on a work truck in a year. If the owner is traveling a large region for work 80k in 3 years is totally ‘normal’
