Anyone else thank the dragon flies when they sit patiently for a photograph?

Stopped by the Weary Traveler in Madison, Wi and saw this nice little homage to Wisconsin's former senator, the namesake of my soon to be alma mater, and creator of Earth Day

At the beginning of the month I was invited out to West Bend, WI for the official unveiling of the Restoring Lands Land Trust. As the union of the Ozaukee-Washington County Land Trust and the River Revitalization Foundation they will be a major force for conservation in the Milwaukee River basin!

I've been around long enough to know not to post any faces, but this is a pretty solid pulse check

I got to spend 3 days at the @wigreenfire.bsky.social student retreat, hosted at the Lowenwood Conserve School in Land O' Lakes, WI. It was a wonderful event with lectures, panels, and hikes. In a time that's been feeling rather dark for our field, it was as a really relaxing & grounding experience.

I have yet to post anything on blue sky, so for my first post here's a wonderful little dog day cicada (Neotibicen canicularis) on a tree in my yard from mid-September. I love the fall, but I certainly miss these guys.
