Agree. Writing outside or around tropes is hard for some writers; the newer/youngers perhaps, who are still sorting themselves. (The coming-of-age trope is an immediate turn off for me, e.g.)

I thought it was a commercial at first, but then it kept playing. No audio that we could hear. Not sure we'll go back, though. They upgraded from pub to wine bar & wedding venue. Changed the vibe of the place. Good food but a detatched sort of feel to it all.

I don't find it difficult at all to write #SexScenes (which doesn't necessarily mean they're great 🫤). It's not the parts moving, it's the interaction, the relating, the communication. That's the challenge. Get that down & the bodies will do fine.
