I’m pivoting my last app, which focused on creating onboarding flows, to something new because I couldn’t differentiate it from the market.

Lesson learned: don’t build an MVP for months without market research.

I’ll share more about this journey in the coming weeks.

How much do you spend a day building a personal brand on X?

I need to figure out a good balance without killing productivity.

Honestly, coding a mock with AI + fake JSON beats Figma every time.

Do you believe the @posthog team deserves a raise?

Transitional websites or OS websites?

Users ≠ Customers.

Users want value, customers pay for it.

Confusing the two is how great products die before they become businesses.

Charging after a free trial without easy cancellation is bad business.

Why make customers pay if they don't want to?

I created a basic form block for my CLI tool to automatically add connected front-end and back-end files to landing page projects.

Next, I'll create the back-end block to connect to this.

I’ve built in public for a year.

Here’s what I learnt. 👇

It works if your product targets indie hackers or is interesting.

If not, people scroll past.

Build to stay accountable.

But find your real audience.

Scared to raise your prices?

If you double them and lose half your customers.

You’ll still make the same money with fewer customer requests.

I keep running into idea paralysis.

I’ll research a market, get excited, then talk myself out of building because it feels too saturated.

How do you push past this?

The grind culture in building in public sucks.

You chase quick money, ignore your health, and get a brief hit of happiness.

But in the long term? It just leads to burnout and bigger problems.

Hustle smart, not hard. Take care of yourself.

Success requires more than mindset. Even with effort, failure happens.

Luck, timing, and market are key.

Believe and build, but stay realistic. Mindset aids but doesn’t ensure success.

I received a notification about a subscription payment for an app I created over a year ago.

I had used a 100% discount code for testing and forgot to cancel the yearly subscription.

Don't make my mistake!

How to transition from developer to marketer:

project = product
users = customers
features = benefits

What else did I miss?

You know you're down a rabbit hole when you're on GitHub searching for working code to accomplish something.

There are TWO types of indie hacker creators:

- Those who schedule a couple of posts at certain times of the day
- Those who spam the post button

Which one are you? 😅
