yesterday i bound one of my vaderwan fics and i think it came out very well tbh 🥰
A bound booklet with black cardstock and washi tape serving as the color. The washi tape has planets, galaxies, and stars on it in silver foil A picture of the inside cover, with the black cardstock having glitter. The title page says “not by violence (but by oft falling)” in a font meant to imitate aurebesh. Another page of the bind, with a small image of Vader on one side and a small image of the death star on the other where the text of the fic begins. The middle of the booklet, with text filling both sides. White thread is visible down the middle where the spine is.

Anakin thought about it for a few moments, running a hand through his damp, dark curls. “It seems… simple enough. Someone from one of those tables, who has a clean bill of health, who won’t mind carrying a baby, staying on Stewjon, and who you don’t hate. Maybe two someones if you have to. What—” Anakin licked his lips, looking at Obi-Wan with eyes that made Obi-Wan’s mouth dry—“what species are eligible?” Obi-Wan glanced down at all of the various tables, lines and lines of species and asterisks detailing exceptions and risk factors and a million other things. “There are too many to list. You can look, if you like.” At Anakin’s expectant look, Obi-Wan stood and brought the datapad over to Anakin, holding it out with the screen focused on the rows and columns of species after species. Anakin looked at it for a few moments, then glanced back up at Obi-Wan. There was something heavy in his eyes, something that Obi-Wan couldn’t parse. “Humans are in 1.1,” he said slowly, as if Obi-Wan hadn’t already read it, “for a solo male partner. They’re listed first.” “Yes,” Obi-Wan hummed, taking back the datapad against his own chest. His heartbeat was… strange. Elevated. Anakin watched it go, and then his gaze flicked back up to Obi-Wan’s own eyes. As they were positioned, Obi-Wan had to tilt his head to look at Anakin—and he did. You need to get to Colum. It is the only thing still holding your soul together. You stand when you feel fit to do so, and the flesh you thought you were standing on is actually some form of inorganic material. It does not have the give of flesh under your feet. You stumble forward down the tunnel—hallway?—as you are shaken repeatedly by that heartbeat, loud and unceasingly startling. Have you fallen into some structure which is an obstruction to this creature’s esophagus? The only way to know is to continue forward. You have come this far. As you make your way down the hallway in your River-soaked clothes which are as tattered as the fabric of your mind, the heartbeat transforms. There are layers added to it—musicality. It is fast and vibrant, not a heartbeat at all. You realize what it is when the hallway obtains a slightly lighter shade of gray. The composition is slightly different, made up of electronic sounds instead of more appropriate instruments, and the tempo is much faster than you are familiar with, but you would not be able to mistake this melody even if you had gone completely mad. It is too deeply ingrained in you. It is the ancient Eighth House hymn, Caramelldansen. “I’ve been cut off.” Nie Huaisang draws one hand up to his forehead dramatically, as if he’s about to faint. Wei Ying snorts for a moment, trying to avoid spitting out his overly-spicy noodles all over the cafeteria table they are seated at. He covers his mouth with his hands in a minor attempt to not let everyone around them see half-chewed rice noodles. Jiang Cheng looks less than impressed with his antics, setting down his chopsticks on the edge of his lunch tray. “It was only a matter of time, really.” Nie Huaisang clicks his tongue, offense ringing through him. “How dare? I don’t deserve this sort of treatment. I came to you for comfort in this trying time–” “Is Mingjue-ge kicking you out?” Wei Ying suddenly cuts in with. His gray eyes are a little teary from choking on his lunch, but they still glint with humor. “I bet Jiang Cheng would let you move in with him.” Jiang Cheng scowls and shoves at Wei Ying’s shoulder. “Shove off–you know my room’s too small for two.” “You’re right!” Wei Ying cackles, seemingly pleased with himself. “Maybe you should move in with me and leave your dorm to Huaisang, then.” “I’m going to break—” He is falling apart into little pieces, shattering into tiny fragments of himself. The only thing he can feel is pleasure, the waves and waves of pleasure coursing through him as Lan Wangji opens him up, holds him down. The only thing he can think about is pleasing the one who is pleasing him, an endless cycle from which he never wants to depart. “Then break, Xiongzhang. I will pick up the pieces.”
