Embedded design engineer, C++ (and maybe Zig?) developer. Pro Rebel, anti Empire. Alignment: stochastic neutral.
He sounds like the type that won't invest any resources in testing, fostering best practices, and heeding the engineering team about deliverables and expectations. Now he has the problem of a new team working on code they didn't write, written under likely poor conditions for success.

Cloudflare argues adding global DNS filters to 200B daily requests would slow everyone down for the sake of DMCA-like website takedowns... And AGCOM responds with "no, nuh uh. Only the bad ones"

Unreal stupidity. Wtf.

I noticed the same issue with Signal. Not every app though - Discord behaves.

This has nothing to do with porn or protecting women and children. The capability to scan anyone's device for anything will be there, no matter what the word of the law is. Complete seizure of digital privacy.

It's hard to enjoy a well built world when 69xxYoMommaSuks and 49 others are bouncing around the same tavern like flees.

Wouldn't be that bad if so many games with multiplayer didn't rely entirely on user interactions for content. The endless churn of survival games with zero world building and purpose has got to stop.

Well you have not being in danger of sinking into the ocean going for you, but I don't think Floridians seem very concerned about that.

The studio of a game I've been waiting for is dropping UE5 in favor of a different engine that will "run on a potato", and I'm wondering if that will be a trend in the next 5 years.

Pretty sure Proton is a financial supporter of Ladybird, which is good.

LLMs can't engineer a solution to a problem, which is what engineers are paid to do. And code generation, even in the best models, is at best statistically average. "Good enough" is going to be a security problem for a long time.

So... How's that multi window app progress coming, Wayland? This seems rash.

Welcome news at least. Thanks.

Just in time for F-Droid to be killed by Google? All privacy and security focused products have a very serious platform problem, or rather a lack of a platform problem.
