I’m sorry that sucks. See if you can get the referral from you pcp now so you can get in sooner, I wouldn’t wait for the stitches to come out. We often called orthopedics if not hand surgery directly when these types of injuries came into the ED.

Was it shallow? If not you might want to eventually see a hand surgeon just to make sure you maintain function. You may also want to consider hand therapy depending.
