when electeds are threatening to haul you in front of congress or someone’s filing SLAPPs you can’t afford to litigate. There’s a huge slew of things that can either get a site in trouble or make it unusable for end users that are all legal.

Spam is itself a judgement call, is legal, & users disagree about the calls. Death threats, doxxing, organizing brigading, all legal. Even “legal” is a judgement call,

A site where you don’t moderate spam doesn’t even have channers. Spam is so high volume, unmoderated, that it makes a site unusable. Yet still legal! And even the definition of spam is still a value judgement. How do you decide who can link to a patreon, mention their book, post a GFM or selfie?
