Random putzing on the internet this morning lead to this article about a crab who wears a jellyfish as a hat. The video is great. #nature
In the dead of the night, this diver saw a bizarre thing scuttling out of the darkness | Discover Wildlife
During a night dive in Bali, an underwater photographer happened upon a fascinating example of symbiosis between a carrier crab and an upside-down jellyfish.

I watched the new Red Sonja and also Thunderbolts this weekend and was surprisingly ok with both of them. I think the lead in Sonja wasn't a great choice, but the film was still way better than I was expecting, largely because it was really pretty to look at--the world, I mean. Gorgeous landscapes.

It's sort of amusing that in this new Red Sonja movie, the villain is essentially an asshole billionaire tech bro.

Cool... cool. So next we won't even have to bother playing the games we buy (but really just rent). Totally cool... Goddamn slop.

What I did discover, taking quick trips into both Target (which I otherwise avoid like the plague) and Best Buy is that they're clearly phasing physical games out. Both places have nearly completely stopped selling Xbox games and the rest of the stock is abysmal. It's a bad sign.

The world is a big raging dumpster fire, America is dying, and I completely failed to find a local copy of Super Bomberman R (or the sequel) locally, so will have to buy it online. Honestly, I just wanted to blow shit up with the kids.

Speed Racer is getting a 4K physical release! This guy pretty much mirrors my thoughts on this criminally underrated masterpiece. It came out right before the 3D craze hit (2008) and probably would have been incredible in that format, but it definitely deserves to be given a new look in 4K. #movies

I made very serviceable Chicken Teriyaki tonight, a dish I've found is terrible in every restaurant except the one tiny hole in the wall Japanese restaurant in town (where it's amazing) called Yama's. This turned out very well, even if it's not quite like Yama's. #cooking

In other news, I have unwittingly learned the Weeny Washer is in fact a product that one can buy and, presumably, use. So, ah, yea.

Got this shirt in the late 90s from Richard "Levelord" Gray when I went down to Dallas and spent time at the 3D Realms office. He sat down with me at his workstation and excitedly showed me the early engine and coolness of the portal tech the game was going to use. It was pretty awesome.

#BestBuy refused to price match the TV I bought from them last month to it's new sale, which is a supposed policy they have, because the TV I got was from a "different" supplier (presumably because it was delivered). Had no idea they were so scammy and it's really pissed me off.

Oof, Metroid Prime 4 is really not great. The story is nonsense, there are a horde of smaller annoying issues like randomly unskippable cinematics, camera and aiming issues... The pacing and level design are haphazard. The end boss is especially annoying and the ending is blatantly unsatisfying.

Tonight's meal is roast beef, roasted potatoes, and broccoli. I haven't made roast beef in quite a while and as I've aged, I've lost a lot of my taste for beef, but it turned out quite nicely.

Why is Best Buy's website so profoundly awful? You'd think a company that prides itself on tech and geek expertise would be able to run a site that doesn't load like ass.

I have to admit I was hoping for more scathing than this provides, but there are a couple good zingers.

iRobot just filed for bankruptcy, partially thanks to the idiotic tariffs going on, but it's just the latest of the flood of smart device makers going under. I doubt Roombas will suddenly become doorstops, but it's really hard to trust any tech product is particularly safe from this kind of crap.

This is like an April's Fool gag that somehow got made...Possibly the most absurd piece of frivolous tech I've seen in a bit.

Due to have a potentially substantial snow storm today, but the new TV arrived so so long as the power doesn't go out, I'll be occupied and toasty this weekend. One thing I don't like about this LG OLED is how damn thin it is.

Finally finished Resident Evil 4 Remake. Leon is like a James Bond who never gets laid. That's pretty much what I got out of it. There should be DLC where you're the shopkeeper just running constantly to stay slightly ahead of Leon so he can keep buying and selling shit.

Ugh. Metroid Prime 4 has back-to-back boss (or boss-ish) battles, which is a thing I really hate. It also seems to have a lot of really long swaths of long corridor-type sections, which isn't great, but on the whole it's been gorgeous and interesting so far.
