The latest @illconceivedpodcast.com found a direct line between the founders of the eugenics movement and Natalcon 2025, so you're absolutely right.

Wild listen.

That's not to denigrate the Chicago Med folks, since I'm sure they're working with demands around continuity, modern expectations, and budget.

But boy does ER look really good.

We've let set dressing go as an art. I was in a medical drama phase earlier this year, and I watched a few episodes of Chicago Med, then jumped back to the first season of ER.

WOW.

The ER in ER looks like a busy place people work. In Chicago Med, it looks like a set.

The average person only knows the specifics of one or two exoplanet discoveries, of course.

The best scene imo

Also a pretty good movie, yes

Wait, did you mean you're watching the Liam Neeson one?

If you haven't watched the few episodes of Police Squad, I can highly recommend them. Possibly more funny.

I went with the version without the motor, and I'm glad I did. Great camera, but heavy enough as it is.

This was my test roll through my F2, and I got a few keepers on it. It makes for a surprisingly nice walk-around camera in the cold.

I would like a DP-11 or -12, because I'm doing stop-down metering with the lens, but that's working well enough for now.

What I find fascinating is that the movie has a real broad style of dialogue favoured by those tentpole action flicks, and the pilot of SG-1 keeps a similar tone.

But as soon as they hit episode two, it switches to a sci-fi episodic tone, and becomes more like Star Trek. Huge shift.

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear that, Gav, that's the hardest thing in the world. I'm wishing you and your family the best. May his memory be a blessing.

I think these legacy strips should just lean into the anachronism. Representative iconography for the modern age. A black and white tube TV while they talk on an iPhone. A 1984 Macintosh to browse Facebook.

Would probably be more fun to draw, too.

Ah the adapter with the Schottky diode. Nice, that's pretty easy.

That's such a killer light meter. It's crazy how well it works in low light.

How did you handle the batteries?

I think that one would play very well, has some good broad appeal

Funerals, for preference.
