I've checked the measurements and it will fit.

So long as the penny squishing machines aren't removed proactively...

It's all good!

That's my biggest worry about the Bosch and GE. With the 30", they only have one large burner, and I don't really use small ones often. I'm more likely to have a big pot boiling and a big skillet going at once.

I'm only looking at cooktops right now, which is what fits my space, but thank you, I'll keep an eye on this!

We did, but alas, it’s not possible. Also, the energy efficiency is, er, not.

Oh, cool! What a great connection, thank you! If he’s still up for a fun historical job someday we’d love to chat. We have a 1911 craftsman that was partially renovated in 1955, so we want to undo most of that but probably keep the kitchen.
November 13, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Nope! The ones we have work, thankfully. I made sure of that when we bought our first “grownup” set a couple of years ago.

The flex zones are a huge part of the appeal for me. We do a lot of cooking.

The wallpaper got painted over at some point but I think was a strawberry design, hence the green and red color scheme?
November 13, 2025 at 2:19 PM
For now, that’s the plan!
November 13, 2025 at 2:18 PM
The kitchen is 85% why we first rented, then bought, our house! We’re going to try to keep it and refinish the steel cabinets, replace the countertops, add new floor and lighting. The one thing I hate is the tiny oven, and the fridge space increasingly doesn’t match available fridge geometries. 🫣

I’m not able to do a range in this space, so that’s a moot point for me, at least. I’m only looking at 30” cooktops (the inset type; see my photo in the third post).
November 13, 2025 at 2:14 PM
We have a Bosch washing machine and love it.
November 13, 2025 at 2:11 PM
I’m so glad we can keep it!
November 13, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Yep! We have the hand-written receipts and the original catalog from St. Charles from when this was installed, too!
November 13, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Thank you! I don’t use Greenspan’s or Lodge, so maybe I’m okay?
November 13, 2025 at 2:09 PM
I’m worried about that. All the models I’m looking at have touch pads.
November 13, 2025 at 1:52 PM
I’m pretty close to doing that, but noticed more negative posts pop up about the Thermador on Reddit since I tentatively made a choice and I’m now second-guessing myself!
November 13, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Behold, our stove from our 1955 “kitchen of the future!” (We call it that because it has amazing custom built-ins). The stove still works, but we’re down to two functional burners after two died last year. Fortunately, it’s also a 30” stove, and we can keep the fun General Electric button panel!
November 13, 2025 at 1:50 PM
I’d especially love to hear from anyone who’s got a Thermador, but if you have the other two, I’d love your thoughts. These are the only brands I’m considering (Gaggenau looks great but is even more costly, and I can’t find retailers anywhere near me anyway).

🥺

Hmph.

It’s the only souvenir I buy, so I like being able to add new ones on my travels.
