My gift to all my friends, cat-lovers or not, going back to their offices and classrooms. A feline survival guide for the neo-liberal university. Plus it is clever and light-hearted and will elicit a smile on this Labour Day weekend. Stay safe out there. #medievalsky

Opened a mystery box and found this! A medievalist’s lifetime in one volume. So happy to see this between covers. Thanks to everyone involved. #medievalsky

The Montreal Massacre. December 6 1989. He separated the women from the men because he hated feminists. Then he killed 14 women. We remember their names.

A brilliant, sunny evening. Balcony time with a good book and Prosecco, of course. Is a post-eclipse sun brighter? It certainly seems so.

The last of my Covid projects: third volume of essays on premodern maculinities, this one co-edited with my dear friend and colleague Konrad Eisenbichler. The volume traces the transition from traditional premodern masculinities into something recognizably different. Thanks to everyone!#medievalsky

The last of my Covid projects: third volume of essays on premodern maculinities, this one co-edited with my dear colleague Konrad Eisenbichler. Premodern Masculinities in Transition will take readers to the point where traditional masculinities are transformed into something recognizably different.

A glorious autumn morning. Cool and crisp. The sun shining on the statue of St Michael while I walk through the archway to the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies. What could be better?!
