Contributor copies of Swing 2.2 have arrived!

I riff on Skyrim and rip off epic poetry, myths, the hero’s journey, and Whitman.

Love this journal and what they do, so I’m glad to have a piece in it with great company to boot. Thanks to editor Leigh Ann Couch.

A treat to share this news and to share this list with my name on it! Next April, folks. Calvin University Festival of Faith & Writing 2026

Ross Gay! Robin Wall Kimmerer!

(My kids are pretty stoked my name appears next to Neal Shusterman especially, who’s been an obsession lately.)

Got a new one—thematically central—from the manuscript out in @wildroofjournal.bsky.social today, and it’s an ekphrastic one to boot.

Thanks in abundance to editor @aaronlelito.bsky.social for picking it up.

Taking on this new project with urgency these days. Ever grateful to @annpedone.bsky.social and the team at antiphony for seeing the promise in this for their third issue (online and now available in print) and for the boost to keep pushing it. Look for more to come in the next while 📢

Reading some stuff, including my piece “A Game of Telephone Is All I’m After Here, Honest” in the new issue of @soflopojo.bsky.social tomorrow.

A company of creative folk is a good company to keep this week.

My latest underworld ramblings: many thanks to @soflopojo.bsky.social for including it in their #35, and a real treat to appear alongside so many folks, including some I’ve had the privilege to know via @ballastjournal.bsky.social

It’s Earth Day, and I’m feeding my face to the algorithm to share that I’ve got a new poem in the latest issue of Greensboro Review called “Prime Rib Resting” that you should check out some time. Mine is a poem that frets over the usual table manners and climate anxiety.

Honored to be in the brand-new @HarpurPalate.

Here's my prose-poem id-raving hoopla that the editors took a chance on to let me fly my freak flag.

Full issue--a treasure trove--here: harpurpalate.binghamton.edu/issue-22-2/

Grateful to editors Adam Stutz and Heather Watson for taking a gamble on my two pieces.

Here’s one of ‘em: “Advertising Campaign Underwritten by Begonias”

Sharing one from the latest issue of Lakeshore Review, with gratitude to the editors.

“How to Talk of the Future Perfect” plays around with grammar and some kind of strange grief—an unexpected pairing that I’ve increasingly come to admire.

Thank you, FRiGG magazine, for giving me the space to share three poems in Issue 62, including this one which has long been dear.

Wireworm was kind enough to publish my piece “Antithesis to Stork” in its zany, punky, imaginative debut. My gratitude to the editors, and long live the Worm!
