I write about the intersection of Faith and Fatherhood. It's broader than you might imagine. If you're interested in becoming famous at home, check out my Substack.

Think generous fatherhood is about buying more toys? Wrong. 🛑
It’s about the spirit you bring through the front door.
Stop hustling for them. Start driving with them. 🚗💨

Is your house too quiet? 🔊 Silence often means distance. A family vehicle with a good sound system—where you can talk, joke, and fight—means connection. If it’s safe enough to fight, it’s safe enough to play. Don't fear the noise. #dadlife #parenting open.substack.com/pub/jacobpan...

Driving by headlights? Time to kick the tires. 🚗 This week, we’re inspecting the "dad-mobile." It’s not just about the destination; it’s about the machine getting you there. 🧵

"I’m tired of the world." 💤 I admit I sometimes rest to hide, not to heal. But we need to rest to be, not just to do. We are human beings, not human doings. Your love isn't contingent on performance. Pull over and recharge, dads. Read more at link in bio. #rest #dadlife

We don’t know where our kids will end up, but we can influence who they will be when they get there. Build a "Map" of their character so they never get lost, regardless of the economy or their job title. #dadlife

Stop asking kids "What do you want to be?". It limits them to a job title. Instead, ask "Who do you want to be?". This reveals core values—like curiosity or compassion—that last longer than any career. #ParentingTips

Parenting is exactly like driving a car at night.

You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.

Most dads burn out because they’re trying to navigate a 20-year map in total darkness.

No craftsman reaches elite status without discipline. They attack problems from multiple angles.

Why do we treat parenting differently?

We try one "trick" we saw on Reels, and when it fails, we give up. That’s not a craft; that’s a hobby.

You're looking for a "silver bullet" to fix your kids, your marriage, or your boss.

Stop looking. It doesn't exist.

The silver bullet is a fallacy because you can't kill your own reactivity or ego with a "hack."

Parenting is about mastering the craft.

I have been preparing myself for data like this to come out. My kids are elementary school age right now, and so often, the best thing we can do is teach them and help them be social.

#parents on @bsky.app. What are your tips to work on this today?

For those worried about fluoride in the drinking water. Here is some research to help guide you. Another article on the site can give you some guidance on measles, too.
