The media did a horrible job covering it. They acted shocked (anyone who was paying attention knew something like that was coming), and then let Republicans whitewash and rewrite what happened. And the courts did a decent job of getting the little guys, but Garland was asleep at the wheel.

No man. You’ve got it backward. You lead from the front. You get people off the sidelines and excited to vote for you with good policies and a moral compass. Not by being as inoffensive as possible, somehow hopefully winning because the other guy is worse, then maybe discovering your backbone.

Democrats are not really trying that hard to cultivate young voters or the labor class. They’ve gone all in on the middle age urban/suburban professional class. Which makes for really great off-cycle election results that make you believe everything is fine until you get wiped out in 2024.
