There is a 10% chance for Ribbick to say the quotes "A lost and lost and lost girl." and also "A crying and crying and crying boy." after you have used Croak/CroakOnX at least twice. Additionally, the "Lost girl" dialogue does not get translated in Japanese, but the boy does.

In the Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy, the ending can now be seen in a higher resolution. This reveals that two Toads that appeared to be running joyfully around a statue before are actually gliding around the statue in T-poses.

In the Japanese version of Mario Kart World, the "SPECIAL test of skill" missions are named "Even the Mario Kart staff were surprised!", a reference to the name of the Way Cool course from the Special Zone in Super Mario World. This is why the SPECIAL is in all caps in English.
