I made sure my son watched them too. He would laugh so hard. Still quotes them. We both came out ok. Neither of us has tried to blow ourself up with dynamite or jump off a cliff. Kids today don’t know what they’ve missed.

When we used to go to hockey games, and when we watch on tv, my son and I always sang the Canadian anthem after ours. Of course my son also sang the parts in the French.

I had a neighbor that would set them off a couple times a month during the summer. Birthday, summer holidays any excuse he could find. I even told him how the girls reacted. He didn’t care because they didn’t bother his dogs.
