I've been trying to release a comic series for years now. Anyone who's done that before knows it's an expensive effort. I'm close to my first issue being complete, or at least released. But the economy has meant I've had to prioritize survival. Still, I WILL release this book, eventually.

Ya know, I understand that it's people's instinct to hate and fear that which they don't understand. But I've never understood why it's the default response. My first instinct when I encounter something new is an innate desire to know more, so that I can understand it.

I don't do New Year's resolutions as a general rule. But I do try to make small changes to my life to better myself. This past year I found myself overstimulated to a wild degree, mostly by my own design. To that end, I'm endeavoring not to split focus as much this year.

There's something about that weird void of time between Christmas and New Year's that encourages you to be the laziest version of yourself. I wonder what it says about me that I've been doing the kind of crap I typically blow off.

As a lifelong gamer, I find it harder and harder to engage with the hobby these days. It's not a question of age, it's buying a #Nintendo console and not owning it. It's SSDs and RAM being sold exclusively to AI datacenters. It's companies being run by non-gamers, putting profit before people.

I've been accused of being an "advocate" of AI (as well as not being real) because I maintain that there's a "proper" way to use AI. I would NEVER use AI to replace artists, or circumvent any step of the creative process. But it's a tool, and like any tool, it can be properly utilized.

I love reading those posts that talk about what makes a particular region Gothic. Since the small town I spent my adolescent years in is a Stephen King novel waiting to happen, I find I relate to these posts. And it's always fun to see what other people consider Gothic horror in their region.

We're at the end of 2025, and I'm starting to see posts about how people didn't accomplish all their goals for the year. Understandably, you might be a bit down if you didn't meet your own expectations this year. But given the shitshow that 2025 has been. Just surviving is enough.

I'm listening to the umpteenth trans bathroom debate, and I have a simple solution.
Just make all bathrooms unisex.
We could just follow Europe's example (like with stall doors) and leave it at that.
People have too many weird hangups about sex and gender. Creeps aren't letting a sign stop them.

Maybe it's the writer in me, but I prefer to believe in the face of a lack of evidence. For instance, we have no reason to expect that an afterlife exists, and yet I still hope to see my loved ones again. It's not that I believe I will, but more that I lack disbelief.

Assuming Satan were real, why would he speak Latin? Granted, it sounds pretty cool. But you would think a fallen angel would speak Enochian right?

I've avoided the Webtoons app as it was just a vehicle for smut comics and poorly made fanwank. But I've recently seen some cool works on there. Anyone have thoughts on whether the app is worthwhile, and/or suggestions on good stuff to check out? Might even be a good vehicle for my own work.
