We've lost David Lynch and quite frankly, I am inconsolable. It's as though we have genuine confirmation that we are entering truly dark times. Art itself died a little today. I guess we owe it to him to keep its spark alive.

Wondering if anyone had seen the OTHER 'Nosferatu' remake with Doug Jones. I'm all for indie film making, but quite frankly, it doesn't look very good, going down that same greenscreen + community theatre route the terrible 'The Cabinet of Dr Caligari' remake did back in 2005.

THE TERRITORY (1981) by Raul Ruiz is one of the most genuinely creepy films I've ever seen. It's troubled production was the inspiration for Wim Wenders' THE STATE OF THINGS (1982) shot with many of the same cast and crew.

Sometimes I have a dream about a Jean Rollin movie I haven't seen, only to awaken and weep when I realise it doesn't exist.

The best Jess Franco films feel like a bunch of mates went on holiday, smoked one joint too many, downed a little too much Rioja and decided, "What, the hell, let's knock up a movie on the fly!"
