managed to remotely confirm all three machines had the same SID, run a tool that would regenerate them, and undo the rpi shit i hacked together

all an hour before she opened shop for the day 🙃 so basically you should hire me if you want a clutch IT professional instead of a chatgpt middleman

so i had to copy this folder out of Program Files to the pi network share and symlink it on the main computer.

it all worked. but some things seem a little slower than usual. we will see if it holds up under the pressure of an actual business day tomorrow. pray 4 me (and my mother)

i am furious with Windows, obviously, but also this garbage point of sale program that works by one machine sharing it’s ENTIRE PROGRAM FOLDER on the network so the point of sale terminals can read/write to the database

idk i’m not an expert but this does not seem like a good setup to me

i sorted the app restore bits by moving shit around until it worked but i spent most of today just spinning my wheels on sharing this goddamn folder

tried all kinds of bullshit and could not make it happen. ended up sharing from a raspberry pi and i simply do not know if it’s gonna hold up
