It's...been a while, huh. I blame FF14. And maybe DQ9 for being so dull that I put it off for months. I'm done with main series DQ for now (I doubt 10 is worth all the hassle) and I definitely recommend 11. 8 is up there too but can be hard to find a copy of now.

Despite seeming quite similar to each other, most Dragon Quest games are rather experimental, either by story structure or gameplay systems. IV and V are pretty unique and even VI tread new ground for Dragon Quest despite feeling like a lot of other JRPGs.
