So we wrote the connector in Rust because why not, and it's probably faster than the interpreted JS code, which is probably the first thing you learn when interacting with MongoDB. The new Rust code is so much cleaner because it's basically creating a JSON document rather than doing raw SQL queries.

I like using MongoDB. The Rust driver is solid, and the shell is easy to use since it's a mock JS interpreter. Our TimescaleDB SQL queries look so weird due to the amount of data we have to insert, so we have a super-long string that formats everything into the final SQL insert statement.
