It's amazing that an executive at Anthropic is unaware that LLMs are just computer programs that receive input, perform calculations, and produce output. They don't have thoughts or self-awareness any more than a calculator does. You would expect someone in his position to be aware of that fact.

Also, if you remove all the AI investment from the equation — which is increasingly looking like an enormous bubble — it becomes clear that the US might not be doing as well as it seems.

Funny how, while it is rightly considered unfair to have privileges based on race or gender, having privileges based on where you were born is somehow deemed acceptable. The entire system of borders and bureaucratic barriers is essentially a system of maintaining inherited privileges.
