atproto and bluesky has been built by a group of extremely talented and thoughtful engineers. it’s pretty remarkable.
that said, there was a key piece missing from the architecture! we forgot to first build a social app with hundreds of millions of users to advertise bluesky on.

the whole concept of a decentralized social network is so interesting to me. it lets companies focus on the important stuff, like building the platform, and gives the users more control over their data. just seems like a win-win.
