I hate the bits. I hate the scripted banters between presenters. I can only guess the awards are doing this to prevent anybody from, God forbids, making a statement.

I have the same problem with this show as I did with Yanagihara's A Little Life: I actively root for the main character to die to put me and all the other characters out of their misery. The show must realize this as it teased Ellie's death, though we all know it's a fake out.

The show wants to stay on the revenge track. At the same time, it wants a redeeming love story of two teenage girls raising a baby in a post apocalypse. The resulting contradiction feels incoherent to me.

Yeah, I've emotionally detached from the show because I think the whole mission is stupid and I'm unconvinced by their attempts to justify it narratively. It feels like high end torture porn at this point. Do Mazin et al not look around and ask why the hell are we doing this

I think this is the reverse "punch the biggest baddest mofo in the prison yard" approach to fascist oppression. Target the most unassailable person to scare off everyone else.
