There's about 25-30 of these things (cognitive distortions) that many people do on a regular basis and yet it's never discussed, never taught in basic education or even higher education . . . woe is us.
I’m pretty well convinced that we don’t fully understand the phenomenon we call cognitive dissonance, and that science needs to think about how to study it from a different perspective. Some people seem entirely unaffected as though they cannot even sense contradiction or feel no discomfort from it.
