Fear makes Putin say anything that reassures himself. The craziest part is that I strongly suspect that if he ever truly ordered an attack on Europe, it’s quite possible the professional officers in the military leadership would have had enough and remove him.

Russia’s leadership doesn’t want peace because it would make them look weak. This was supposed to be a “small special operation,” and it turned into a long war instead.

Russia’s wars stem from leaders who’ve lost touch with reality. Putin and the Kremlin live in a grandiose bubble where they imagine restoring Soviet power. The world doesn’t work like that anymore. Ukraine clearly wants nothing to do with Russian rule, and neither does anyone else.

As much as I hate to admit it, Trump is right. Europe has been asleep and forgotten realism. And now the U.S. is clearly no longer a reliable ally, so we must build our own European defense against russia. Ukraine cannot be left alone to defend Europe.

From a European perspective, I can never understand how Trump got a second term. The first should’ve been a warning. It wouldn’t matter so much otherwise, but his administration fuels Russia’s hunger for conquest, and that will lead to new wars. Slava Ukraina!

Anyone sane and even slightly following international politics must see Russia’s brazen lies. The whole war is built on false claims of “Ukrainian Nazis.” It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Russia’s leadership when Putin is gone. Opportunism is usually pretty short-sighted.

Hopefully not. To me, it looks like a pretty desperate attempt to distract from the Epstein files.

The EU has expanded too fast. It should have ensured real democratic commitment first. Hungary’s current love affair with Russia was a surprise, though. Cut their EU funding, money usually talks. The problem is that the EU rarely has the guts to do what’s needed.

Sometimes cats choose their own family. Years ago, a cat ran up to my mom while she was digging potatoes, meowing loudly — and just stayed. She didn’t ask for permission; she simply chose my mom as her human and lived the rest of her life with her.
