That sounds tricky nonetheless to me! In Italy, especially on the main roads, you typically see the sign in the picture, which is the "diritto di precedenza" sign (quite literally "right of way"), which is the dual to the "give way". There is no ambiguity on who gets the blame in case of accident

I'm learning here, as I don't have whatsoever knowledge of what amounts to law in the UK, but by looking at this screenshot, it seems to suggest otherwise?
