This is a visual abstract summarizing the study titled "I just kept asking and asking and there was nothing": Re-thinking community resources and supports for young adult stroke survivors'. We interviewed 19 Young Adult Stroke Survivors in British Columbia, Canada, using semi-structured interviews. Selected demographics (age, gender, ethnic origins and months since stroke) are presented in proportions. Key themes identified were: 1) need for longitudinal medical follow-up and information provision, 2) need for psychological and psychiatric care, 3) centralizing and integrating community stroke services and resources, and 4) adapting community supports and resources to young stroke survivors' needs. We recommend the following: 1) primary care physicians, advanced practice nurses and allied healthcare professionals with specialization in stroke care provide post-stroke follow-up, 2) resources specifically for young stroke survivors, 3) a pathway for psychological and psychiatric care post-stroke and 4) a comprehensive web-based central hub of stroke resources and services
