Sainsbury’s markets itself as a brand that delivers “good food for all of us”.

But stocking products from companies directly involved in Israel’s occupation and apartheid regime they’re in direct contradiction with their values.

🚨 Twelve British citizens including Islington residents, are aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza.

The UK government has a legal obligation to protect its citizens and vessels. Unlike Spain and Italy, who are providing protection for their nationals, the UK has done nothing.

We stood along upper street with our placards, banners and flags, in solidarity with Palestine. We paid respect to the 680,000 souls who have been taken, martyred by the Israeli terrorist state, allowed to happen with the agreement of our government.

We raised £1,500+ for Grassroots Gaza, a mutual aid initiative run by & for Palestinian people in Gaza & Egypt. They have built an avenue to aid that international bodies have failed to provide & the essential work that they carry out is emblematic of the steadfast resilience of a diaspora in exile.

We supported a resident in asking a question on how the council’s relationship with Barclays stands in relation to its climate goals. Council democracy shamefully redacted key elements of this question to strip it of any context before publishing it in the agenda. We will share details of this soon.
