Just managed to complete this fiendish #NationalBookTokens quiz, only after studying other competitors' hints and tips and then furiously Googling. It's bloody difficult. Have a go if you have a spare two hours and have read ALL the books. hiddenbooks.nationalbooktokens.com

Anyone here know #EastLothian? Because I have edited a smashing recipe book featuring a feast of the county’s makers, bakers, chefs and producers and it’s on sale soon! It is also a beautiful work of art. Preorder Land, Sea & Hills via landseahills.co.uk/shop/p/book

Hello. Just came here to say I love Jacob Alon. Beautiful melodies.

Oo — just remembered that Sean Lusk’s A Woman of Opinion won fiction book of the year in the #SaltireBookAwards two days ago, which is your reminder to read this brilliant book.

Gutted to hear of Mani’s death. I never saw The Stone Roses live and to know I never will now is rather saddening.

The Woman in Cabin 10 is rather rubbish.

I see the Americans have decided to declare war on Italy.
Tiramisù doesn’t require baking, feeds a crowd and actually needs to be prepared in advance, making it a great contender for a Thanksgiving dessert. Cranberry, pumpkin and apple give this creamy no-bake classic a fall makeover with festive flavors.

What’s with the judges’ scores for Balvinder? They were nowhere near high enough!! Her dance was graceful and beautiful. Is there some sort of conspiracy?! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing

Re the BBC edit of Trump’s comments. It was not ethical journalism, but

1) How can Trump sue for defamation when his reputation is so abysmal, whatever is said of him cannot lower it; and

2) It won’t be the BBC he’s suing, it’ll be the licence payers. It will be *our* money, not a corporation’s.

This is the best birthday present — from me to me 😂 — Margaret Atwood’s memoir. Might even edge it to the top of the to-read pile.

I have decided to be more Hungry Paul.

You may wish to note the above.

All this debate about immigration in the aftermath of the train stabbings — totally forgetting the victims in all this. The perp’s nationality is irrelevant. People were stabbed. They will be traumatised. Their lives will never be the same. Have some respect.

I spent about £700 on sweets and we’ve had only three lots of guisers this evening. I’m gonna get diabetes in about five days.

Is Celebrity Traitors scripted or directed in some way? Are the competitors told to do certain things? Vote certain ways?

I am so so enjoying Leonard & Hungry Paul on iPlayer. Such a gentle, heartwarming story, and Julia Roberts’ narration is understated and modest. I cry with pleasure every episode!

When America decided to drop extraneous U’s from words - eg, labor, odor, favor, etc - how come they didn’t drop the U from the ‘ous’ suffix? Eg poisonous, dangerous, ambiguous etc?

Anyone?

Susie Woolf is a formidable force. You’d never think it to hear her reasoned, gentle chat but boy is she focused. Great interview by Lee McKenzie for Toppings Edinburgh tonight. Buy her new memoir, Driven

Watch Leonard & Hungry Paul!

I adored the book by Rónán Hession & am so delighted it’s been adapted for TV. It’s nothing like anything else you’ve seen or read. Gentle, funny, human, meandering…
