Further details on ammo & weapon resources: In the future, they'll be highly configurable! You'll be able to set a maximum and starting value for all types of ammo, as well as make them regenerate over time. As someone who's wanted infinite ammo back since it was removed, this excites me greatly!

Additional details on magic weapons: Seems they'll be adding more types of magic weapons with various different spells! Could this mean elemental effects? Would be cool to be able to set enemies on fire, or slow them down with ice, or blow them away with wind... But again, all speculation from me!

For clarity's sake, it hasn't been stated when any of these weapons will be added to the game. It could be EA2, or a future update. Let the devs cook, they'll be ready when they're ready!

Also! Magic weapons are in progress, as well as mana, which you can use potions to restore. Again, this is a VERY early look, with placeholder VFX, UI, and sounds.

To start off, new weapons are being added! Check out this footage of a new "laser cleaver" being swung around. It has been noted that the sounds are placeholders. I would imagine something more laser-y when it's finished, but that's speculation on my part.
